Welcome! I am an E-RYT 500 hour Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance, Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider and an Energy Medicine Yoga (EMYoga) Master Teacher and an EMYoga Rx Practitioner. I’m also a Reiki II Practitioner, and have certifications in Acupressure Meridian Therapy from Michael Reed Gach, Ph.D., and in Essential Chinese Medicine from The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
My yoga classes focus on integrating the body and mind through sensory and breath awareness, as well as mindful movement through the yoga postures. Each person is unique and the poses are brought to meet the individual’s body and energy level. The ultimate goal is a return to wholeness, including stress reduction, a sense of well-being, increased flexibility, balance and strength.
In 2008, I completed my 240 hour teacher training at North Carolina School of Yoga in Raleigh with Chandra Om and went on to complete my 500 hour teacher training at Asheville Yoga Center in Asheville, NC in 2014. I hold certifications in hatha, vinyasa (flow), yin, prenatal, children’s, gentle and restorative yoga, as well as meditation. I’m also certified in the Yoga Warrior method for trauma, PTSD and TBI (traumatic brain injury) and I have a Yoga for Seniors instructor’s certificate from Duke Integrative Medicine in Durham, NC.
In 2020, I completed the Energy Medicine Yoga (EMYoga) Master Teacher Training Program with Lauren Walker. EMYoga amplifies the restorative power of yoga by also realigning the body’s energy systems (meridians, chakras and more). It’s been a very healing practice for me. I’ve been an avid yogi for over 20 years and the first time I practiced with Lauren, I felt so much more balanced in mind, body and soul. As an EMYoga Rx Practitioner, I work one-on-one with clients to customize an EMYoga practice unique to their needs.
This year (2021), I’m continuing my studies in Chinese Medicine with Michael Reed Gach, Ph.D. in the Five Elements Acupressure Points and Qigong.
